About the role
As a PCB Engineer, you will design and lay out the physical heart of our communication systems, integrating complex RF chains and high-speed digital processing into size-constrained, mass-producible modules. You will take ownership from component selection to the final Gerber files and lab bring-up.
What you'll do
- End-to-end design: Lead the schematic capture and layout of complex multi-layer PCBs (HDI, rigid, and rigid-flex) involving high-speed digital interfaces and sensitive RF circuits.
- Signal & power integrity: Collaborate with RF and system engineers to implement impedance control, stack-up design, and shielding strategies to ensure optimal performance in noisy environments.
- Design for manufacturing (DFM): Work directly with fabrication and assembly houses to ensure designs are mass-producible and cost-effective without compromising quality.
- Component management: Select critical components with a focus on supply chain availability (preventing obsolescence) and environmental resilience (temperature, vibration).
- Lab verification: Support board bring-up, debugging, and electrical validation using oscilloscopes, VNAs, and spectrum analysers.
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in PCB design and hardware development.
- Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools (Altium Designer preferred).
- Experience with high-speed digital layout (e.g. DDR memory, PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet) and mixed-signal design.
- Solid understanding of EMI/EMC principles and layout techniques to minimise interference.
- Professional fluency in German & English.
Bonus: not required
- Master's degree in electrical engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in hardware design for aerospace, defence, or automotive sectors.
- Deep expertise in RF layout techniques (microstrip/stripline, antenna integration, matching networks) up to 6GHz+.
- Knowledge of thermal management techniques for compact, high-power electronics.
- Experience with regulatory compliance testing (CE, FCC, MIL-STD-461).
- Strong teamwork skills combined with the ability to work autonomously as an individual contributor.
- Ability to meet tough goals under high pressure and manage time effectively.
How the hiring process works
- Intro call. 30 minutes with our recruiting team. We'll learn about your background, and you'll learn about the mission.
- Deep dive. A working session with one of our PCB/RF engineers on a real layout or signal-integrity problem.
- Case study, in Munich. A visit to the office to walk through a board design case study with the team, in person if you can make it or over Teams if you can't.
- The offer. By now you've likely already met our CEO. This round is where we make it official: fast, transparent, and built around the mission.
