About the role

As our first Lab & Hardware Technician, you'll be the backbone of our hardware operations. Engineers need to engineer; you make sure everything around them runs smoothly. From setting up test benches to soldering PCBs to prepping hardware for field deployment, you're the person who keeps the lab functional, organised, and ready for whatever we're building next.

This is a hands-on role. You'll work directly alongside our engineering team every day, supporting bring-up, testing, and assembly across our RF and embedded hardware systems.

What you'll do

  • Set up and operate test benches, spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, VNAs, and power supplies.
  • Run standardised hardware tests under engineer direction and log results accurately.
  • Solder and rework PCBs, SMD, connector assemblies, and cable harnesses.
  • Support hardware bring-up: flashing firmware, basic diagnostics, configuration logging.
  • Build and modify test fixtures and jigs.
  • Prepare and pack hardware for field deployment and customer deliveries.
  • Manage component and equipment inventory: track stock, flag shortfalls, and order replacements.
  • Maintain lab equipment, including calibration schedules.
  • Keep the workspace organised, documented, and compliant.
  • Support prototyping work: mechanical assembly, 3D printing, enclosure builds.

What we're looking for

  • Highly capable with a soldering iron and SMD rework.
  • Completed apprenticeship in electronics, electrical engineering, or a related technical field (Elektroniker, Mechatroniker, or similar), or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Familiarity with standard lab equipment and measurement tools.
  • Detail-oriented: you log things properly, you label things, you don't cut corners.
  • Hands-on, self-sufficient, a builder at heart.
  • Interest in what we're building: defence tech, RF systems, UAVs.

Bonus: not required

  • Experience in an electronics, aerospace, or hardware startup environment.
  • Exposure to RF or communications hardware.
  • Familiarity with ERP or inventory management tools.
  • Basic understanding of PCB assembly or IPC standards.

What we offer

  • €40,000–70,000 base salary plus equity.
  • Direct exposure to cutting-edge defence technology, systems deployed in real operational environments.
  • Work alongside a world-class engineering team from day one.
  • Small team, real responsibilities: a meaningful growth trajectory!

How the hiring process works

  1. Intro call. 30 minutes with our recruiting team. We'll learn about your background, and you'll learn about the mission.
  2. Deep dive. A hands-on session on the bench with one of our engineers: bring-up, soldering, or a diagnostics problem.
  3. Case study, in Munich. A visit to the lab to work through a real hardware task with the team, in person if you can make it or over Teams if you can't.
  4. The offer. By now you've likely already met our CEO. This round is where we make it official: fast, transparent, and built around the mission.
